Part III of the series about the ladies running for Rome's municipal election and we examine the hopefuls in the biggest centre-of-the-left party, Mr Walter Veltroni's Democratic Party. Mr Veltroni himself, up to now useless mayor of Rome, is running for prime minister nationwide, and he's going to lose, but his party will keep hold of the capital thanks to an array of beautiful ladies. 57-y-o Anna Maria Carli boasts a great asset: she's a Veltroni lookalike.

Thumbs down for Paola Guerci, 39. She began her career at the parish of St Emerenziana, then at the Vatican Radio, then as president of the Institutes of St Mary in Aquiro, then obviously in the Partito democratico: so much for a secular party, Mrs Emerenziana Rutelli







Things get slightly better again with smiling pregnant lawyer Flavia Micci, 40, showing off her wedding ring. She is immediately followed in the list by Lucia Migliaccio, 46. On the following one, no comment
