A Sulaimaniyah, località del Kurdistan iracheno che prende il nome da un poeta che scrisse una poesia sugli asini (animali fondamentali nella lotta di liberazione curda), l'ufficialmente registrato Partito degli Asini ha inaugurato una statua di bronzo - realizzata in sette mesi dallo scultore Zerak Mira al costo di 2.500 dollari -, raffigurante un asino incravattato. Il segretario del Partito degli Asini, Omar Kalol, spera che l'opera incoraggi il popolo curdo a trattare meglio gli animali, specialmente gli asini.
PERSONALMENTE OSSERVO che i 2.500 dollari potrebbero, dovrebbero essere rimborsati ai separatisti curdi da quelli 2.500 volte più ricchi dirigenti della nostrana Lega Nord, che definire un partito di asini sarebbe irrispettoso del nobile animale.
