La polizia di Polanka, in Polonia, ricerca i buontemponi che in uno scherzo da prete hanno fatto colare vernice rossa dalla corona di spine di una statua di Gesù Cristo dopo la messa in una chiesa locale, provocando la ressa di fedeli che gridavano al miracolo e sono rimasti delusi dalla smentita delle autorità cattoliche


Bloody cheek. Police are investigating after hoaxers sparked a stampede of worshippers by pouring red paint over a statue of Jesus. Churchgoers were leaving after mass in Polanka, Poland, when they saw a red liquid dripping from the crown of thorns on the statue's head. Believing it to be a miracle, they set up a vigil outside the church and contacted Polish Catholic Church officials to authenticate the holiness of the evidence. Their faith was shaken when priests declared the blood was paint. Local priest Jan Kutyna explained: "We carried out tests and can say with a 100-per-cent certainty that this is not blood. It is paint. It was clearly the work of some pranksters". Police said those behind the hoax were facing three years in prison for vandalising a religious statue... Austrian Times
